Somatic bodywork Somatic Unwinding

Somatic bodywork is a relaxing, renewing treatment that will put your nervous system at ease. I will treat your body gently and deeply with my hands, arms and feet. What makes this treatment special are the techniques that I’m using: a spiralling movement called somatic unwinding, footwork and intuitive listening of the body.

Your body will ground, open, and release the tension it holds – especially in your fascia – the connective tissue network of your body. Each session is unique and flows respectfully at your body’s own pace, listening to your needs and wishes. I will hold space for what rises for you during the session.

Somatic bodywork will make fluids and blockages move while your nervous system enters a deep state of rest. The treatment also increases mobility, vitality and connection to yourself.

In a session, I will focus on the energy lines (meridians in Chinese medicine) and acupressure points of the body as well. Somatic bodywork aims to affect all layers of your (well)being – physical, emotional and energetic.

The session is done on a futon while wearing comfortable clothing. No oils etc are applied.

Benefits of somatic bodywork:

  • Reduces stress and tension in the muscles, joints and connective tissue (fascia)
  • Relaxes and resets the nervous system
  • Increases lymph and blood flow, supporting the cardiovascular and immune systems
  • Increases mobility in stuck areas and improves posture
  • Brings you to a space where you are open, flowing and relaxed.
